Halon Systems

Halon systems are hands down the best clean agent systems for suppressing fires. Fire protection companies began installing halon systems in the 1960s in computer rooms, data centers, switch gear rooms and other areas where water could damage equipment. Halon systems were installed up until 1994 when the production of Halon 1301 was banned. While new halon systems are no longer installed there are many systems still in service. Halon 1301 and Halon 1211 is still used in commercial and military aviation because it is the lightest, most effective fire suppression agent.

Key Points:

  • We recommend that our clients keep their halon systems until an upgrade is absolutely necessary.
  • Halon 1301 gas and parts are available for purchase should these systems need to be refilled or serviced.
  • Customers are under no legal obligation to remove Halon Systems.
