Central Station Monitoring: Drew University
Site: Drew University
Site Location: Madison, NJ
Site Description: University Campus
Project Overview: Design and Installation of a central station monitoring wireless network for the entire campus, inspection of all fire protection systems.
Scope of Work:
Student safety is a top priority for any college or university. Drew University chose AFP to design a redundant central station monitoring system to notify the Madison Fire Department in case of a fire at any of the campus’ 44 buildings. Using the most advanced wireless and IP technologies, AFP designed and installed a fully networked system solution to provide redundant, reliable communication to all their buildings.
In addition to this project, AFP is also responsible for the periodic inspections of all the fire protection systems on campus. AFP is uniquely qualified to handle the repairs and inspections of all types of fire protection systems including: sprinkler systems, fire alarm systems, clean agent systems, kitchen suppression systems, and portable fire extinguishers.
While providing life safety is the cornerstone of any college’s commitment to fire protection, Drew University also houses an impressive collection of published and unpublished materials at the United Methodist Archives. AFP is proud to provide protection for this irreplaceable piece of history.
