The deadline for the seven-year sprinkler compliance report is July 1, 2011. Owners of NY commercial buildings 100 feet and higher must submit a report indicating that the property is completely sprinklered.
Sprinkler compliance must include a certification by a New York State licensed professional engineer or registered architect. This certification must state the percentage of the building that has sprinklers installed. If less than the entire building is in compliance, the design professional must include an implementation plan outlining when and how the remaining part of the building will be compliant.
