At Associated Fire Protection, we spend our days helping protect businesses, buildings, and the people inside them. But being part of the communities we serve means more than providing fire protection services. We also believe in showing up, lending a hand, and giving back whenever we can.

Recently, members of our South Jersey team spent an afternoon volunteering at Cathedral Kitchen in Camden, NJ and it turned out to be a pretty meaningful way to spend the day.

Our team split up to help wherever we were needed. A few of us worked inside the community kitchen, helping serve meals to guests, while the rest of the group headed outside to distribute free groceries.

A seemingly never-ending line of Camden community members came through for groceries, with our team working together to keep things moving and make sure everyone received what they needed. It was a busy afternoon, but it was also the kind of busy that feels good.

Giving Back as a Team

One of the things we love about volunteering is that it gives our employees an opportunity to do something positive together outside of the workplace.

Our South Jersey team works together every day, but there’s something different about stepping away from the usual routine and working toward a shared goal in the community. There was plenty of teamwork, conversation, and, of course, some laughs along the way.

Community service is also a great reminder that everyone has something to contribute. Sometimes it’s a few hours of your time, a helping hand, or simply being willing to jump in where you’re needed.

For us, it’s another way to live out what being part of the AFP team is all about.

At AFP, we’re proud to have teams working throughout South Jersey and the surrounding communities. Giving back is something we genuinely enjoy, and we’re always looking for opportunities for our employees to get involved and make a difference.

A huge thank-you to the team at Cathedral Kitchen for welcoming us and for the incredible work they do to support individuals and families in Camden. We were happy to spend the afternoon helping, and even happier to do it together.

We may spend our workdays protecting people and property, but we’re proud to spend some of our time helping our neighbors, too.
