In January 2013 Siemens announced that it would be discontinuing the MXL panel. As of October 2018, Siemens no longer manufactures replacement parts for this system. Devices and detectors will be available until 2020, but many parts required to keep the MXL panel operating will no longer be available.

In order to keep your fire protection system operating and to avoid costly downtime and fire watches, AFP recommends you migrate your existing Siemens MXL panel to the Firefinder XLS or Cerberus Pro Modular platform before your system becomes unsupportable. It is much easier and more economical to do this in a non-emergency situation (maybe come up with a better way to say this…).

Siemens has developed an economical upgrade path to each of the these platforms.
